Based in Washington DC, John has extensive experience in homeland security and defence, with over 35 years of experience with US Treasury and Departments of State and Homeland Security. Dr. Markey is an internationally recognised expert in the areas of rule of law, trade and transport and economic stabilisation of failed or failing states. He has led complex co-ordination efforts alongside NATO, WCO, EU, INTERPOL, EUROPOL and EUROJUST in the context of trade facilitation, customs and border-management, information fusion, WMD and transnational crime.
